The Department Council is the governing body responsible for the planning, management, and oversight of teaching and research activities conducted within the Department. It exercises all powers granted to it by current regulations and aligns its actions with the general directives established by the Board of Directors and the Academic Senate.

Composition:

• All tenured professors, all researchers (including fixed-term researchers), and equivalent staff affiliated with the Department, with voting rights.
• The Administrative Secretary, with deliberative voting rights and serving as secretary.
• Representatives of the technical-administrative staff, comprising no less than 15% of the academic and equivalent staff.
• An equal number of student representatives, in accordance with the Department's regulations.
• Up to three representatives of scholarship holders, research fellows, or multi-year research contract holders operating within the Department, with voting rights.
